Zinc chloride is an inorganic salt, Chemical formula is ZnCl₂, it is used in a wide range of industrial applications. Zinc chloride is easily soluble in water and is the most soluble of all solid salts (25°C,432g/100g) due to the formation of acid H[ZnCl₂(OH)] in water. Soluble in methanol, ethanol, glycerin, acetone, ether, insoluble in liquid ammonia. Strong deliquescence, can absorb moisture from the air and deliquescence. It has the properties of dissolving metal oxides and cellulose.
Melted Zinc chloride conducts electricity well. Thick white smoke forms during the heat. Zinc chloride is corrosive.

Uses:
Inorganic industry as the production of activated carbon activator, the activated carbon becomes porous material, increase its surface area. It is also used in the manufacture of soluble foam extinguishing liquid and raw material for the production of zinc cyanide. Organic industry used for polyacrylonitrile solvent, organic synthesis of contact agent, dehydrating agent. Shrinkage mixture, deodorant. Special surface activator and catalyst for the production of vanillin, imogal and cation exchange resin. Used as a purifier by the petroleum industry. The dye industry is used as a stabilizer for the color-developing salts of ice dyes, and also for the production of reactive dyes and cationic dyes. Rubber industry as a vulcanization accelerator ZPC auxiliary materials. Printing and dyeing industry used as mordant, mercerizing agent, weight - adding agent. Electroplating industry is used as zinc ion additive in ammonium salt galvanizing, pigment industry is used as raw material of white pigment, metallurgical industry is used to produce aluminum alloy and treat metal surface, and it is used as rust remover when welding.
